Identify your repeated thought patterns

Most days I have to wrestle my thoughts to the ground and leave many of them there. I sift them quickly through the lense of hope and then march on in faith.

Habits are not just physical; what we repeat in our thoughts form well-worn pathways in our brains, these become attitudes and beliefs.  These thought habits influence our feelings, our responses and the way we show up in our lives.

I find it helpful to view my mind as my living space, I need to stand guard at the door for good things to flourish inside.

Sometimes I can’t ignore the discouraging thoughts that are sculking at the windows – I fling the door open wide and invite them in. I sit them down and ask them to speak clearly so I can hear what they have to say. It is usually nothing new and I can send them on their way.

The first step to transforming habits in your thinking is to identify the themes or group of thoughts that are bothering you. When you recognize those thoughts that keep messing up your living space, the next step will be to meet them at the door.
